About Lens Data

First things first: thanks for watching LENS DATA on YouTube. :-)
If you've never heard of it, this is what I do:

Lens Data is a parent site to "blog do zack", which by itself is a text variant of "vlog do zack", one of Brazil's largest photography channels on YouTube. Created by Marcello Castilho, it is the largest, privately owned, camera lens review site in portuguese. Check it out:

Besides every "vlog do zack" lens review video feature english subtitles, and all "blog do zack" articles feature an english translated text, their content never really reached a world wide audience. Reading captions is just boring and it was time to create a "global" showcase of this content.

The idea is to review camera equipment outside of the lab, showing real world results from an amateur point of view. I rarely agree that a lens should be pointed at a black and white chart to purposely reveal its flaws, and the photos are not as bad as people think.

What a great photo!

Be it a US$500 entry level zoom or a US$5000 high end prime, I try to show the best you can do with them. I travel around the world searching for the best subjects, and monthly bring the photos back to you.

"Fishermen" at Istanbul, with the 5DII + EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM.

"Lens Data" is based on blog do zack's english text, product shots and photos, and is digitally rendered as video. There's no human character like vlog do zack to be a database of it's content, for faster viewing.

This way I can render the slideshow in up to 4K and record the synthesized voice anywhere. From an airplane flight to a café in New York City, I can deliver the same content at a faster rate, all at best quality.

Keeping vlog and blog do zack running is a feat of its own, with the equipment cost, resell loss, travel fare and data connection. I must purchase everything from my money and try my best to test it somewhere else. It is not particularly safe to do street photography where I live.

So If you liked the content and wants to support it, any amount will be much appreciated. :-) I'll try to bring new reviews monthly, and on Patreon you'll have access to some raw files.

I know there are plenty of "lens data" available for free anywhere else, put I hope you enjoy my Lens Data as much as I enjoy creating it.

$0 of $500 per month

Keeps Lens Data alive forever. It doesn't look like much, but this amount is enough to test over four lenses every two months. Half the cost will come from me, and the rest will come from Patreon. Yay! \o/
