"I took a break from painting for about three years, beginning in 2015, to reflect and consider what I wanted to do with the skills I developed over a couple of decades. Beginning in 2018, my work has taken on a much more colorful and design-centric style that more closely reflects my personality. I am an outgoing, maternal sort. I live for those moments where I can uplift or deliver the perfect punchline. I think the art world has more than enough somber contemplation, and I would like to produce things that tend more toward the joyous."
Born in Chicago, 1971, Gloria has lived and taught in this area for most of her life. She is self taught and formed her style through the tireless study of traditional masters over decades of work. Her influences include Waterhouse, Klimt, Mucha, Fantin-Latour, Sargeant, and Thayer.
