Who is Loreshaper Games?

Loreshaper Games is an indie tabletop roleplaying game development studio based in Phoenix Arizona. We're excited to make fun content available to everyone, and our philosophy is that good games improve the human condition.

Right now Loreshaper Games consists of only Kyle, the Head Honcho and writer/designer pushing most of our systems through. He's been working on games as an amateur hobby for his whole life, but he's been working seriously on Loreshaper Games since early 2017. For more information on Kyle's history working on games, there is a fairly comprehensive overview of it here.

What do we make?

We don't hold ourselves to any particular genre or style, though we do have a couple product lines that are currently seeing products being released and a couple more that are planned for the future.
The most exciting one of these for most people is our upcoming Hammercalled Roleplaying Game, which blends epic science-fantasy and fast, but crunchy, rules to create a future for exploration where anything can happen.
We've also released the free-verse roleplaying game velotha's flock, a more experimental storytelling game about were-ravens who are exiles from another dimension, trapped in our world and in the center of a struggle between God and the Devil.
All of our core products are 100% free (we define this as any product that you're going to want to give everyone in your group), and available under our own Tabletop Attribution License (inspired by CC-BY, but with more freedom).

Why do we need money?

Because Loreshaper Games is dedicated to game creation as a passion, we're giving away our stuff for free. However, developing games takes a good chunk of time and money, and we want to make our games the best we can.
Providing resources for us helps to make it so our operating budget doesn't just consist of Kyle's day job and any donations we get on DriveThruRPG. A stable flow of income means that he can devote more time to his work and also commission more work while paying artists more for their talent.

What do you get?

Our games are free, so why should you support us?
Well, obviously, by supporting us you're helping us get what we would charge if we didn't want to give stuff away for free. This means we can make more, higher-quality, products.
You also get access to the Patron channels on our Discord; all backers get access to a progress-update channel that talks about specific things that have been added or changed recently (this will typically be updated daily).
Patrons also receive credit in our work (though we do require names to be kept PG) at whichever tier they were backing at. This credit can include a link to a website for silver or gold tier patrons (so long as the content of said sites is not abusive or objectionable).

Thank you for your support!

We rely on the appreciation of people who play or read our games to keep the lights on, so every bit we can get truly helps.

Tiers
Bronze Patron
$1 or more per month 1 patron
Bronze Patrons get early-access to playtest documents and names in credits.
Includes Discord rewards
Silver Patron
$3 or more per month 0 patrons
Silver Patrons get everything lower-tier patrons get, plus access to premium content (like adventures that are sold separately and experiments that would not normally be released). They also can have a hyperlink in the credits section of PDFs.
Includes Discord rewards
Gold Patron
$5 or more per month 0 patrons
Gold Patrons get everything lower-tier patrons get, plus the ability to vote on the priority of added features and products.

Please note that this doesn't necessarily mean we're open to *any* suggestion regarding future products (we believe that making good games requires passion).

Includes Discord rewards
Goals
$1 of $500 per month
At this point we'll hit the funding level that enables us to get our projects a decent amount of work done. We'll be able to do enough WMFH contracts to keep up with Kyle's writing pace, which is really great.
