Okay, I look a little different now. But I’m still sticking out my tongue and having fun! It gives you some insight into my personality.

Why do I need Patreon and you wonderful patrons? Because for as long as I can remember, I have had a pen in my hand, or a typewriter or a word processor. I write. A lot.

I write fiction and non fiction: Sci-Fi, fantasy, humor, quirky (is that a genre?), inspirational, essays, plays, advertising copy, poetry, true anecdotes, and on and on. I love entertaining people with my writing.
I have won a few writing contests along the way, produced children's plays, and done advertising copy for my own business and other companies. I also have an adult play that may be produced in the next year. So I actually can write!

But I have a problem.

To understand it, I will tell you about my rescue dog, Sammy. He was abused the first two years of his life, especially by men and it has left him terrified of them and sensitive to noise and sudden motions. The wonderful family that adopted him had him for seven months but realized their family is not the right fit for him–he was still terrified of the males in the family.

He has joy in him but doesn't know how to play, likes letting the hair grow over his eyes so you can’t see him, and is afraid of new things. Since he has been with us, he has lost his wild-eyed look, plays and snuggles with me, and doesn’t start at every sound or movement. His safe place was his kennel, which he rarely ventured out from but now he rarely goes into. He even lets my husband pet him occasionally, and no longer flees from his presence spraying urine and feces as he bolts. (Gotta love that!)

I am a little like Sammy. Not the abuse part, but the fear of new things, of letting others see the insides, of coming out of my safe place and taking a chance. I have been afraid to publish. Bit by bit, though, like Sammy, I am taking a chance with my writing.

I want to publish my stories. I want to make a living out of selling them.
And for this I need financial support now.

I need to work almost full time at a job to help pay the bills. If I receive $1500. a month from my patrons, I will be able to write full time with no apologies. More needs to be done, but that is my first goal.
I am putting some things in place to publish my stories online in the next little while so you can see if you like them. I will keep you posted.

I hope you enjoy my stuff even if you do not support me here. But even a little bit will go a long way to helping me meet my goal. I’m giving it a year.
I hope you come along with me on my journey!

This support may seem small, but is so precious to me! It shows me that you think I am worth encouraging in my creative endeavors. Thank you so much!

As a reward, if you support me with $1 per month, I will send you a story for each month you do. Isn't this exciting?

You seriously think I can do it! Not only do you receive Tier One rewards, but if you support me with $2 per month, I will also reward you with a short anecdote of how Sammy is progressing in his Rescue.

Peanut Butter Cups
$5 or more per month
You are getting pretty hard-core in your support and I SO appreciate it! As a reward, not only will you receive the rewards for Tiers One and Two, if you support me with $5 per month, you will receive access to my patron's only blog which will likely be sporadic but will cover anything and everything from writing, personal news and opinions on how to run the universe.

Chocolate Almonds
$10 or more per month
You rock! Not only am I in danger of fainting from receiving such generous support, but you will receive all of the other Tier’s rewards plus an extra free story for purchasing for supporting me at $10 per month.

Also, I will send you a chapter from the Sci-Fi book I am currently writing. Of course, chapters will likely be changed somewhat by the time they get into print, but you will be with me during the process!

Crispy Crunch Bar
$50 or more per month only 10 left
What can I say? I would say only my mom would love me enough to support me at this level, but since she is gone, you’re helping her support her kid in her stead. What reward would I give you? If you support me for $50 per month, and continue for the year, you will receive a signed copy of any of my print-published books that come out while you're a patron. This is a bit of a gamble–could be self-published if I don't get a book deal, so it may not happen.

In the meantime, you would get the advance copy electronically before release. And of course, the rewards from the other two tiers.

Ferraro Rocher
$100 or more per month only 5 left
I can’t imagine past this tier. (Well I can, but then I think I would be bordering on the delusional.)

If you are one of the five supporting me at this level, and do so for a year, I will create a chap-book exclusively for you with either one long story, or several smaller ones. You will have input as to possible settings you might like, suggestions for characters and one character named for you.

This will be exclusively published for you in a one-copy edition.

Naturally, you receive the other Tier's benefits as well, along with my sincere, heartfelt gratitude.
