I love what I do. Truly.

What I've discovered is a passion to help people optimize their health, and get their vitality back, through reducing and understanding oxalate. I discovered this somewhat by accident, when my daughter was very young. She had some ongoing health issues and our naturopathic doctor suggested the diet for her. He didn't have anyone in his office who could help us with it - he had to send me to the single website that he knew of, to figure it out myself.

Long story short, I decided to be an example to my daughter, and go on the diet with her, so she didn't have to eat in this new way alone. I got the shock of my life when my own health issues started to improve! That got my attention. My naturopathic doctor had never suggested this diet to me!

The stunning realization - that you could need a lot oxalate diet, and not be diagnosed - was the push to start me on a quest. I wanted to understand oxalate as fully as I could. There was so much to learn, but the more we benefitted by eating low oxalate, the more intrigued I became and the more I sought out the information.

All that learning paid off. Ten years later, my daughter is well; I'm healthier than I've been in decades; and a new career was born. I've now been working with clients for over 5 years, helping them to reduce oxalate in their lives too.

Could this be something that would help you?

Here's the challenge: there isn’t a course where you can learn about oxalate. There aren’t many experts who understand the full range of oxalate impacts on human health. In fact, you have to be willing to put in a lot of time just to get good, basic oxalate-related information.

Unfortunately, the whole oxalate picture is complex and goes well beyond most single information resources (and this is assuming you aren’t getting misinformation from the sources you can find).

The right diet for any individual isn't necessarily a simple analysis. What if someone needs to avoid certain foods because of allergies? What if they have been eating a particular therapeutic diet, and now they need to lower oxalate too? What if they need to lose weight as well? It takes a significant investment to read and digest the wide range of research relating to oxalate alone, to ensure that there is a real depth of understanding, both of the dietary needs and the impacts of the changes. This doesn’t even include the need to read on new and emerging nutritional approaches, which can also make a profound difference when trying to optimize our own health.

Frankly, it’s all about connecting the dots. And that makes ongoing learning absolutely essential  – and that takes time. It’s that time that’s become a factor.

So here’s my question: what if you and I become partners in this endeavour?

What Patreon does is allow me to keep reading, keep connecting the dots, and then write about what I find. My intention is to provide excellent quality information, and allow you to select a level of support with the benefits that most interest you; your support gives me the chance to spend the time to produce this quality resource.

As an entry level partner ($5.00+ /month) -- I will be posting short, easy to read articles including topical and interesting health information that’s caught my eye, but I will be doing that with a focus on how oxalate can impact you, low oxalate nutrition tips and tricks, as well as low oxalate recipe hacks. Wondering what to do about a favourite high oxalate ingredient in your current recipes? There’s a substitution for that! Once a month, you will get to see at least a couple of recipes or recipe hacks, so that you can start to see what's possible when eating low oxalate. And I'll share the kinds of things we do at my house, to help you with practical application of the diet.

This is straightforward, practical advice for those who aren't interested in detailed help with meal planning. You will learn about health and oxalate and how to substitute ingredients.
You'll get some current information. You'll follow along with things that I'm doing and how my family eats.

As a second level partner ($15.00+/month) -- You will get all the information provided to our partners in the first level, and more. Each month will feature a different therapeutic diet or food exclusion and how it will work with low oxalate eating. This level aims to help those who are dealing with more complex dietary situations – to give them a “map” of what might work. There will also be articles on the research I'm reading, and how it applies to improving your health.

I will create 3 day meal plans each month, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks plus the corresponding recipes for these more complex situations, which build in the related restrictions and show you how you thrive and eat well. We will be looking at many of the common therapeutic diets, from low FODMAP to low histamine to gluten free and more. Many meal plans will work for anyone – even if you don’t have the specific issue, intolerance or allergy. The idea will be to expand your horizons. I don’t believe in deprivation!

Second level partners get one of the biggest benefits of individual consulting with me – meal planning and custom recipes - but at a fraction of the price.

This is a first kick at how to organize and provide the right benefits at the right levels. If you have comments or feedback - let me know! I want to make this resource work for you - so that we all benefit.

I look forward to working with you on Patreon. ;-)
