About Lyrica Baroque

The mission of Lyrica Baroque is to support a diverse community of students, teachers, artists, institutions and audiences of all ages through education, collaboration and performance. Lyrica Baroque seeks to promote the extraordinary classical musical history of New Orleans by performing accessible chamber and baroque music at the highest level of artistic excellence.

LYRICA BAROQUE is a unique gathering of artists who perform and educate as a special kind of chamber ensemble. Established in 2009, Lyrica Baroque is a two-time winner of Best Chamber Music Performance in Gambit Magazine’s Tribute to the Classical Arts. The group has performed in popular venues such as St. Mary’s Church in the Ursuline Convent, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the St. Louis Cathedral and collaborated with celebrated organizations such as The Historic New Orleans Collection, New Orleans Friends of Music and the New Orleans Opera Association. Lyrica Baroque offers a high level of creativity and artistic excellence that is both collaborative and inspiring. Their unmatched versatility, coupled with truly stellar performances offers a new and exciting experience in classical music.

Lyrica Baroque is also deeply committed to reaching children and musicians of all ages through unique projects:
The Power of Language
Members of Lyrica Baroque partner with local New Orleans educators to present a series of workshops using music as a tool to teach young students new strategies for learning resilient behaviors and facilitate social-emotional learning around academia. The workshops aim to enhance students’ imaginations by exposing them to potentially new art forms such as classical music, and provide students with a secure and safe foundation from which to explore the world, emotionally connect, reflect, empathize, and empower their sense of personal voice.

NOLA Chamber Fest
Presented by Lyrica Baroque in collaboration with the New Orleans Friends of Music and the University of New Orleans, NOLA Chamber Fest is proud to annually host New Orleans’ very own chamber music competition. The competition consists of six divisions: Junior, High School, College, Graduate, Community and Young Artist. Six professional musicians judge the competition. Cash prizes are awarded to the winning group in the High School, College, Graduate and Community divisions. Winning groups also receive the opportunity to participate in a masterclass given by world-renowned chamber ensembles presented by the Friends of Music, and in the Winners Showcase Performance.
