About Magical Zoo

It is often said that artists are the soul and the conscience of their society. At this time more and more artists, myself included, are turning their attention to producing work directly addressing the issues related to protecting the environment.

I have been an artist and a designer for many years, and at the same time have been independently active in protecting animals and the environment. In the past I have worked directly with a number of environmental organizations, and continue supporting them through donations on an ongoing basis. I practice a number of environmentally safe activities in my daily life, as well as educate others as to their importance. It is only recently that I have started addressing these issues directly through my art.

My new series of sculptures Magical Zoo focuses on reducing waste, and furthering the awareness of sustainable and responsible practices. The sculptures in this series are inspired by endangered or uniquely beautiful and interesting animals, and are created exclusively from post consumer up-cycled materials, such as paper products, packaging, non-recyclable plastics, fabric leftovers, and other items that would have otherwise gone to a landfill. The only other substance added to the work is transparent varnish glue.

For the last two years these sculptures have been shown in group exhibitions across North America and Europe. Currently I am working toward creating a solo exhibition consisting entirely of the pieces from the Magical Zoo series. My intention is to create a touring show, and to bring this body of work to various international venues in order to generate more visibility for the environmental issues among the audiences that may not be confronted with them otherwise. I intend for this body of work to be exhibited across North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Both producing this work and organizing its shipping and exhibiting requires ongoing resources and investment. This is why I am looking for Patrons to support this work.

I am inviting you to join me on this journey of creating art while protecting the environment and making our planet a better place for all.
