Hello There!

My name is Ricardo and I'm the developer and creator of 
"The (very affordable) LARGE SLA 3D Printer".
I definitely need to improve this name... Hm, maybe I can set a challenge!

It's not just a concept, as you read this it is already being under final testing, I have already made some light and masking attempts and so far everything runs smooth!

Still working on the VAT, which is the unit that holds the resin and the lift plate connection for the sake of ergonomics and easy of use! It's important that everything is accessible.

My next goal is to develop the formulation and the software that drives this 3D printer!

By developing the resin and software everyone can do their own experimentation and formulations, which is also the essence to make this work, and the right path to Open Source it!

That's another reason to kickstart the community!

   

"But hey! They are already in the market, what makes yours different?"

Well...

- It's Open Source

- It's cheaper because Open Source makes it possible,
(in some cases it can be 10 times cheaper if we relate build area vs build costs)

- It's larger than the average SLA Printer
It has a 14'' Full HD Screen
(the build area: aprox. 300x200x350mm)

- High resolution:
XY  Axis aprox. 160 microns
Z Axis aprox. 20 microns minimum

- Super Fast
It can make an entire 300x200 layer in 2 to 5 seconds depending on the resin type.
On FDM (filament deposition) printers, a layer this size can take up to 10 minutes
(and in some cases it can be more extreme).

- User friendly.


Under the hood, still incomplete, but under constant development:


This is the prototype, we are studying other possiblities of design to increase accessibility, maintenance and print area (Z Axis).

A Printer Slice!
$120 or more per month 0 of 25 patrons
 Get a slice of the printer each month so you can build your own! And by slice, I mean a part of the hardware you're going to need (except screws), essentially:


  • Choose the part > I send it to you!


The advantage of this tier is that you will be able to keep up with the evolution while having access to all build documentation, keep in mind that the design might change, so I suggest that you buy the acrylics in the end, anyway, it's still your choice!


We just need to make sure that we keep track of what you have so you don't receive duplicates!

(each line = 1 part/month) 

  • 1x Stepper Motor
  • 2x Stepper-Shaft connector
  • 1x Ramps + Arduino [opensource]
  • 1x Motor + Structure Mounts [left] 
  • 1x Motor + Structure Mounts [right] 
  • 1x BallScrew + supports [left] 
  • 1x BallScrew + supports [right] 
  • Screen support [top]
  • Screen support [bottom]


Hardware that is not (yet) available

  • Led Array (high power LEDs already mounted)
  • Led Deflector (this is what is going to focus the light)
  • Aluminium structure
    (this will be available somewhere soon)
  • PSU, it's a regular 500w PC PSU, we recommend 600 - 800w, but since this is a prototype we're testing it to see how low we can get.
  • Acrylics [this is actually available, but we will only send them in the end, that's what makes more sense as the outer shell might change during the making].


Access to software tools is always granted as you need it to use it, besides it's already opensource!
