About Matt Guthmiller

I love aviation! And I want everyone to see it in the same light I do, so I'm sharing the most awesome adventures flying enables. As part of my exclusive Patreon community, you'll have a front row seat to all the action, and you can get exclusive access to bonus content, have a look at some things long before anyone else, or even get your name on the side of the plane!

My content tends to focus on general aviation travel adventures because that's what I do. I use my plane extensively for business travel, and the rest of the time (or sometimes even on a business trip) it's an affordable and absolutely incredible way to take a few friends and see some of the most unique places on the planet. Now filming these expeditions, I'm sharing the kinds of adventures only general aviation can offer, and trying to capture them in ways no one else ever has.

But telling compelling stories on camera is expensive. To produce the typical episodes that have become standard on my channel requires about $30,000 worth of gear -- right now much of that borrowed from friends with additional stuff rented for special occasions -- a crew of at least 2, and about 40-60 hours per video (occasionally more!). Often key parts of the story take place at night or off in the distance, where GoPros and point-and-shoot cameras just can't keep up. Getting smooth shots that aren't nauseating or just completely blurry requires more gear. Storing all of that in 4K requires thousands of dollars of hard drives even with online cloud storage. In all, that's a huge constraint on what I can film and when; so it's just not sustainable to share it without patrons and sponsors.

Join the adventures, and let's share the most epic aviating with people all over the world.

I usually post a video twice a month (though I'm working hard to eventually increase that closer to weekly), and I publish shorter form content on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter almost every day.

~~~~~~
I've been flying since I was 16, and in 2014 at age 19 set the Guinness World Record for the youngest person to solo circumnavigate by aircraft, flying a Beechcraft A36 Bonanza around the world in 45 days. Since then I've been flying that (and all sorts of other aircraft) all over the world. In the past couple years my flying adventures have taken me everywhere from tiny Caribbean islands like St. Barths to Greenland, Iceland, Europe, and to nearly every state in the U.S. Along the way, I've also had the opportunity to meet a ton of other amazing aviators, young and old alike, many of whom play roles in my videos.
Filmmaking has been another passion of mine for nearly as long aviation, and your being a part of this allows me to bring everyone along with the best viewer experience possible, supporting equipment and hundreds of hours of editing. Ultimately I strive to capture the world's greatest aviation adventures in a way that's unlike anything else, helping to get pilots flying more often and introduce new people to the world of aviation.
Consistent bi-weekly or better publishing. These videos take a ton of time and effort to produce (typically around 40-60+ hours per video), so this awesome aviation content simply would not be possible without the support of Patrons and sponsors.
