Michael Forrestis creating videos
Get access to behind the scenes content including extended footage and details of the visual design, motion graphics and custom software tools developed to produce each video, as well as all the benefits from the $1 tier.
Thank you really so much. This tier is how you get all the code and circuit diagrams from the videos to understand in more detail and hopefully to help you try out these projects yourself.
- Arduino sketches
- Fritzing circuit and breadboard diagrams
- Xcode projects
- Code scripts
- Motion graphics files
About Michael Forrest
In each monthly episode I explore different techniques and principles to playing live electronic music without using a laptop.
I've talked about the problem with laptops, and different approaches to playing without a laptop, and now I'm showing some of the things I've been making like a mechanical Eurorack module, a glowing alien or a way to project live visuals controlled by a modular synth.
The videos are for musicians, makers, hackers and performers who are interested in fresh ways of producing and performing music, combining the best of digital technology with a healthy dose of analog magic.
This is just one of my many projects. I co-host a podcast every week, release iOS apps, share big ideas and support doing good. The more supporters I can get on here, the less time I have to spend on commercial software development projects.
What is Patreon?
Patreon is a service where you can pledge to send a regular payment to creators, so they can support themselves and keep making new stuff.
Patreon is better for creators than advertising or sponsorship. The content is 100% uncompromised, payment is more predictable, and creators don't need to stoop to clickbait content or other shady practices.
Patreon means that creators serve their viewers, not advertisers or corporate sponsors. And where the viewers choose what deserves to be made and who deserves a voice.
How often will I end up paying?
You pay per month. I'm releasing at least one video per month but there will often be further bits and pieces like live performances along the way.
Why do you need the money?
I have a lot of ideas that will never be realised or shared if I always have to take on full time work. Also, a lot of what I'm making here isn't particularly cheap! Every video seems to need more bits and pieces of electronic hardware or camera equipment to realise, so it would be nice to get a bit of help on that.
What's in it for me?
All patrons pledging $1 or more will get free access to a jam-packed vault of commercially released music - all my albums and EPs as high quality mp3s.
Pledge $2 or more to get access to behind the scenes content where I'll share the techniques behind my productions which can involve a lot of visual design, motion graphics and even custom software tools.
Pledge $5 or more and you'll get access to all the source code, circuit diagrams and any other assets you might be interested in. I'll also throw in stuff from the video productions like Motion templates or my video production coding snippets.
Pledge $10 or more to appear in the end credits of my videos.
And how about this: pledge $25 or more and I'll personally help you debug your own projects. If you can't get some code to work or your Arduino's doing something weird, just give me a shout and I'll carve out some time to help you figure it out over video chat.
