Aanii/Hello,

Welcome to my page enjoy the stay.  I've been serious about comic book/graphic novel illustration and creation since I was about 12 years old. Those early illustrations are horrible, but I've still got them, well some of them made it through the years since then. I'm Indigenous from the Nakawe people.

My comic books are mostly about superheroes, that are a mix of traditional anti-heroes and heroes, and all are Indigenous. Background character and supporting characters are of various ethnicity.

You can find the following short stories online for purchase at their various websites.

Mashkiikii Miikana (Medicine Road): NCRA
The Prisoner of Haiku: Sovereign Traces Vol 1: Not (Just) (An)other
Linger: Sovereign Traces vol 2: Relational Constellation
Mashkawide'e (Has a strong heart): Appointedpod

Upcoming graphic novels:

Niikaniganaw: is a story about bringing Indigenous culture into the healthcare system and what that's like for a variety of non-indigenous healthcare professionals.

If I Go Missing: is a story about Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women as told by an Indigenous youth who calls upon the police to treat her with the same respect they do whenever a non-Indigenous woman or child goes missing: as a person who matters. Will be published by Lorimer.

The Krillian Key: is the story of Kyrill Nickolas Savek aka Salamander a Nakawe man who is going to live for one million years regardless of what happens to his body, which has stopped aging in his mid 20's . He's lived by hiding in plain sight for just over 300 years and has seen and learned a lot in that time, it has also made being alive a lonely and meaningless thing to him. Human/alien hybrids are battling to capture him and others are fighting to protect him. This is the story of how he's thrust into the universal battle between the Seven Who Walk Before creation. The Krillian Key will be published by Kegedonce.

Everything I do and create has some kind of Indigenous perspective, all my protagonists are Saulteaux or another First Nations. My language and our traditions also show up too.

As new projects come up I'll let you know about them and give you exclusive access to them.
