About Spencer Tracy

I'm Spencer Tracy just graduated from Sierra Nevada College with my MFA and live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Most of my work is focused on creating vehicles to forge nostalgic connections through illustration and design work. The last year I've been writing and illustrating comic books about myself, my dog Vicodin, Nudie Cohn, Dizzy Gillespie, Kandinsky, Roky Erickson, Sam Cooke, and Bruce Goff.

I've also been learning how to make animations using an Atari 2600 programming kit as well as pressing experimental records and soundtracks. I am currently working a combination of comic book work, Atari boxes and animations, action figures, vinyl records, and a Lisa Frank inspired supply line.

In conjunction with these projects, I've begun to construct a space called The Oklahoma City Museum of Modern Art or The OKCMOMA. I am currently searching for physical space which will serve as an institutional critique of the spaces in which art functions.
While most MOMAs focus on Modern Art the OKCMOMA will examine the concept of Modernity in contemporary art. I am working on writing grants and have acquired limited funding for the next six months.

Ive been on the road since I graduated 2 months ago traveling around the country interviewing people about their dreams and realities. I blew my engine in New Mexico and have pretty much exhausted my funds to continue the project. Ive been staying in Pueblo CO trying to figure out ways to complete the rest of the trip. I need about 2k to finish up going through the south and eastern portion of the United States.
