We only need $1 from you, if people like you just gave $1 we'd be able to run OLTM far more smoothly.

So here's the deal with who we are and why we're OLTM is starting a Patreon account:

Our Situation:
We are OLTM: Open Letters That Matter. This page was started as a way to broadcast thoughts and ideas important to the people in the OLTM community.

OLTM has become a lot of things, you get important news articles, the best of user generated literature, poetry and personal stories.

We strongly want to share ideas and content that ‘matters’ and will help you in your day, give you a different perspective, and give you and your friends something to talk about.

We are trying hard to move away from the content that the internet is filled with, stupid lists and meaningless content.

In just a few months OLTM has hit 700k people, yes that’s over 700,000 people. And to be honest it’s a lot of responsibility!

  • We want OLTM to exist and thrive for a long time. People like to be inspired, people like to read about things they previously were unaware of and we are here trying to solve that need.
  • OLTM needs to be self-sustaining. It has to be able to grow on it’s own, without advertisements, without sponsored posts and by being completely people centric.

  • We are trying to raise a small sum of money using Donations:

The way Patreon works is a reader can donate whatever they want per month and the donation is recurring each month after that. So anything, from $1/month up, is hugely helpful to the cause.

What We'll Use the Money For

We set a goal of $100/month. That money will keep OLTM up and running. Here’s where it’ll go:

    • MailChimp. As the people on our email list grows, the fee to our emailer grows.
    • Facebook post "boosts". When we announce a new post on Facebook, this makes sure that the announcement gets onto 1/3 or 1/2 of our Facebook followers' News Feeds.
    • Content Editor. It's a content website and page, so an editor is required who can run it smoothly with me, to cater to the exponentially growing audience. Between the two of us the quality of posts will only go up! The editor also handles things like spam, redistribution requests and things that’ll keep OLTM free from falling in quality.

If we can somehow surpass the $100/month goal, we'll use additional funds to start expanding.

Thanks for any support you can offer if you decide to and it’s because of people like you this community exists.

Don’t forget to submit your content to either the Facebook page or the website!
