Hello, friends! Podcast Shakespeare is my listening tour through the complete works of the Bard, from lowlifes and fools to widows and whores, from queens and irascible youths to donkeys, dogs, and the occasional bear. Along the way, we'll look at Shakespeare's life and times, his reputation through the ages, and explore countless books, films, TV shows, plays - from the sublime to the ridiculous - and more as we capture each play's theatrical, critical, and popular history.

I really hope you'll join me on this exciting adventure. It is for me a truly personal project that I hope will engage with existing lovers of the Sweet Swan of Avon but also warm the cockles of those who know nothing beyond Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet.

In the interest of not going broke while I devote every spare hour to Shakespeare studies, I have started this Patreon in case any listeners feel like contributing a little something to the work. This podcast will take a few years, so any little bit helps. The vast bulk of the episodes will be released through the usual channels, of course, but as a bonus for those who want to help support me, I will be offering exclusive Sonnet-casts on a weekly basis. Each episode will involve me reciting one of the sonnets, along with a brief exploration of the work, and perhaps some other poetry if I'm so inclined.

The Patreon series of Sonnets commenced in April 2019. Please also come join me on Twitter or Facebook, or email me - I'd delight in hearing from you!
