Equus caballus 2014-07-31 My walk today took me by numerous stables, so I thought a horse would be appropriate for today’s animal. Horses, of courses, have a shared legacy with us humans, and I can’t help but think of the steppe tribes of Eurasia first taming wild horses, which undoubtedly looked smaller and shorter than what we typically think of as a horse today. Interestingly enough, they’re the only other mammals beside humans that can sweat, which is what enables them to run for long distances.
