Quetzalcoatlus Leaps Into the Air
That last drawing I did of the Quetzalcoatlus was a ton of fun, but I drew it directly over a skeletal reconstruction. The result was that it was kind of staid; paleontologists use that kind of reconstruction - from one side, because it shows you the majority of the structural bones; facing left because that's how left-brained image recognition prefers it.

A Naturalistic Quetzalcoatlus
I wanted to do a more naturalistic drawing than my last one, so I changed the camera angle and the look on the critter's face. I'm trying to get to the point where I can do whole illustrations, rather than solely the technical style I've been doing. I love the technical style, but I'm confident that it will get better if I keep after a broader "scene" style, too. It'll be particularly valuable when doing sapients, whom I want to represent in a less objective way.
