New Article - The high cost of living
Electric Tortoise is a very short game centring around the interrogation of a murder suspect. Since it's only short that's all I'm giving you - you'll have to play it to see for yourself what's really happening. For its brevity, I decided to comment on its economic telling of social power dynamics and relationships of oppression, as depicted largely through scene composition and context. Composition analyses often relate to framing set pieces to deliver the most excitement straight into the player's brain, so I'd like to make more of these where I consider composition to view more passive effects, such as the nature of social structures and the relationships between people. I hope you enjoy it!
