We need your help
Hello Asheville Blade supporters and readers, In less than a month, we've broken straight through our first major goal. We've kept up scrutiny on local officials, called out low wages and other long-ignored issues and featured real, vital perspectives from around the city. And we've done it all thanks to you. Every supporter — whether they're giving $3, $10 or more — allows us to keep the lights on, pay artists and contributors and lay the groundwork for more hard-hitting local journalism. I can't thank you enough for your support. Now, we need your help. We are incredibly close to reaching our next major goal — bringing back local Asheville government coverage. This includes the much-missed live #avlgov twitter reports, which gave the whole community an opportunity to experience what was going on in the halls of their own government, get essential context, and weigh in. It was a credit to the population of our city and its engagement on the issues, and the Blade looks to bring it back, along with in-depth reporting from city hall. So, if you're already a supporter and like what we're doing, consider raising your monthly donation: even just a dollar or two more a month is a huge help. Please tell your friends that haven't signed up yet that the Asheville Blade is worth supporting, and that now is the time to do so. The Asheville Blade was founded on the belief that journalism requires courage, not fear, to meet the challenges of our current time. To make that kind of journalism possible requires new ways of funding and supporting it. The Blade doesn't have wealthy backers or ad dollars. Instead, we rely on you, our readers. I wouldn't have it any other way. Forward, David Forbes Editor
