About Russian Language Podcast

My name is Tatiana Klimova. I was born a small town in the North of Russia, but I live in Europe. In addition to Russian, I speak French and English, learning Japanese.

Russian language teaching is more than a hobby for me: it’s a passion and a mission. I created my Russian Language Podcast in 2008, and since that moment I’ve stayed true to my original concept – all the explanations must be in Russian, with complicated words explained using more simple ones. Of course, in the beginning it may seem too challenging, but it doesn’t take long to get used to it and you progress enormously! And with the optional full transcripts, my listeners can understand every single word I say.

Russian Language Podcast
is for active people of all ages and professions whose first goal when learning a language is to be able to speak it. They are not afraid of completely immersing themselves in the language. They are not afraid of speaking, first slowly and with mistakes, then faster and better.

Currently, Russian is considered a very difficult and exotic language. Cases and verb forms seem strange, and that’s without even mentioning the Cyrillic alphabet (although you can learn it in just one evening). Learning Russian is regarded as something particularly intellectual or strangely whimsical. I would like to change the image of Russian in the world. My dream is to make it look accessible, or even fashionable. My method, explaining complicated things with easier words, is the first step in that direction.

Secondly, I am persuaded that interest in the language leads to a greater interest in the culture as a whole. Promoting Russian makes Russian-speaking countries more attractive, boosting their tourism and their economy. And of course, it also works in the opposite way. When you’re in love with a country, very often it means you fall in love with its language too.

Most of the content on this website is free. You can join Russian Dacha Club to get more podcasts and videos. You can also become a dachnik through Patreon.

If you love Russian language and if you want to support my mission, whether directly or indirectly, please feel free to help out. Talk to your friends and colleagues about Russian Podcast, share it on social networks and talk about it on the radio, on TV, in schools and universities. You can even make a donation, too.
