Schrodinger’s Cat (www.schrodingers-cat.net) is about exploring the science that is all around us. We want to make every one of our readers active participants in the science community, and in the global community, by questioning what they hear and see, and not afraid to seek out answers to questions such as, How does that work? Why did that happen? Is it true?

Natasha is the blogger and visionary behind Schrodinger’s Cat. After graduating from the University of British Columbia, with her Bachelor of Science, in Earth & Environmental Science, Life Science and Physics, she found that she was not done asking all those important questions that she had to know (three majors had only begun to present some of the many, major questions to be answered). Unfortunately for her friends on social media, it meant that she would research the “scientific” articles that they shared and provide a full report on whether the story was true or false, and where they could find the scientific papers that backed up her claim. Astonished by the sheer volume of false information that is being spread around, the concept for the blog, Schrodinger’s Cat, was born (see Story Behind a Name). Not everyone knows where to find the truth, so why not show everyone how to find answers from the reliable sources (and how to tell if they are reliable). Give readers stories that they can trust.

The idea of Schrodinger’s Cat has expanded from just the Fact or Science Fiction posts, that debunk the questionable viral “science” articles from social media, that you will still see on the blog. We also explore the Science Behind TV and Movies, posing questions such as How do Light Sabers work? Is Marty McFly’s Hoover Board possible?; various pieces of scientific literature through the monthly Schrodinger’s Book Club; everyday science in Schrodi Out and About with at-home experiments, and science museums and attractions; and checking out the latest science gadgets and apps, what’s a hit and what’s a miss.

Thank you for your support. Without you, Schrodinger's Cat would not be what it is today.
