Jessicais creating fiction, poetry, & short films
Deleted scenes! Contributors of this level will gain access to all the darlings I've killed in the writing process (a.k.a. scenes, pieces of dialogue, lost chapters, and other bits that didn't make the final edits) before they go up on my social media stories and Medium Series.
Contributors of this level will gain access to everything that ended up on the cutting room floor, as well as access to original notes from the early days of ideation (some from as far as 13 years ago!), and the thought process behind some of the music, films, books & places that inspired ABOUT THAT NIGHT and NEW YORK STORIES as a whole.
Hi! I'm Jessica Taghap -- a sometime cultural critic and longtime creative writer. As a fiction writer and poet, my work thus far has explored questions of connectivity and anonymity in the big city. The last few years, I have been working on an anthology of short stories titled New York Stories. Expanding upon the theme of missed connections, New York Stories serves as a collective ode to New York City, in the form of short stories.
Your generous contributions will go towards possible collaborations with photographers, illustrators and filmmakers (I'd love to make mini-trailers for each story in the collection); as well as any further resources I may need in the course of writing (research, travel, and even, possibly, publishing!).
