Welcome to our Patreon page!

I’m Steven Ritz-Barr, a filmmaker and puppeteer from Los Angeles, California.

I have been practicing Puppetry Arts over 40 years ago, having worked both in Europe and Hollywood in multiple productions, ranging from TV shows like The Muppets Tonight and blockbuster films like Batman Returns and Men in Black, as well as over 1200 original live shows scattered throughout the decades.

During the recession of 2007-8 I decided to make my own marionette short films inspired by classic literature, compelling me to read and understand some great books. I built a small studio in my home and have been making my films ever since; Faust (2008), Quixote (2010- voiced by British actor Michael York),  Lorelei (2014). Those films, as well as other shorts, will be available for our subscribers and released monthly on our channel.

Our newest film, The Legend of Joan of Arc, is our most ambitious project yet: with dozens of exquisitely handmade wooden marionettes created by Russian Master Puppet maker Eugene Seregin; multiple sets and battle scenes, as well as an incredible true story of a young woman who was compelled to take up arms and lead an army to protect her people.

The mid-length feature film produced by Classics in Miniature® is currently available for rental and purchase in all major streaming platforms and will be available for our Patreon subscribers later this year.

Our Patreon subscribers will be able to watch exclusive making-of clips, high-res photos, character PDFs, historical timelines, and behind the scenes interviews.

Patreon will also be the home of our newest family member, Zarathustra - a funny, wise-old hermit (based on the Persian historical figure from 3500 years ago), blended with Frederick Nietzsche’s writings and my own experiential philosophy. Our hero shares drops of absurd advice to anonymous onlookers from up on his mountain. Zarathustra Speaks is a fun, short, series of “postcards of thoughts” from the man who created the blueprint for all religion as we know it today- the first Prophet Zarathustra. A companion series featuring the Pope, titled Hand of God will be released later this year, with a Dalai Lama spinoff arriving this Holiday season.

Political satire will be part of the channel as well in the form of the hugely funny hand-puppet web series Executive Time featuring the fumblings of Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Mike Pence, Rudy Giulliani and Mick Mulvaney in the White House.
