Who is Stewart?
Stewart is a rescued Samoyed/black lab/border collie mixed breed who has been diabetic for over 8 years.

He is a natural comedian with a heart of gold and a former therapy dog for nursing homes and hospitals. This intelligent gentle giant was re-trained as a registered physical assist Service Dog for his owner who is a permanently  disabled widow.

His pet parent has successfully managed his disease for many years where he's lead an active and productive life, but Stewart has recently developed new life threatening complications involving nerve damage to his bladder and the ability to pass urine.

This neurological problem has cost over $4000 to identify and cost over $2000 a month to treat with proper modalities like cold laser therapy, acupuncture, canine massage and water therapy to manage it. Without these therapies in place, Stewart must be catheterized at home and at the vet up to 6 times a day to relieve urine build up in his bladder and avoid uremic poisoning.  Repeated catheterization of a diabetic dog greatly increases their chances of severe infections and even death.

Many people know stewart from his upbeat and often, comical Facebook page @stewartthediabeticdog along with his funny Instagram page of the same name, where he and his owner help spread the word about Canine Diabetes along with hope for dogs fighting this lifelong disease.

Your generous continued patronage ensures Stewart a healthy repairative recovery against diabetic neuropathy as he wins his daily battle with Canine Diabetes while showing  other diabetic pet parents that they too can manage and triumph over this disease, living a long, happy & productive life.

Thank you so very much for your loving support. You are making a wonderful difference for Stewart and this cause!
