Coffee Club!

Most of my writing and thinking is fueled by coffee (ventiblackicedcoffeenoclassic), so you can say you make the magic happen! You'll have access to all of my creative ramblings, videos, and work-in-progress snippets on the patron-only feed.
Buddy System!
per month
Help a friend become part of the Taking Up Space community by sponsoring their Coffee Club membership! You'll receive a digital postcard to send to your buddy letting them know. If you don't have a buddy in mind, you can be a general sponsor in our scholarship program. Includes a personal shout out in an episode of my weekly video show, Sweaty Selfie.
Pen Pals!
Limited (20 of 20 remaining)
per month
You've got mail! In addition to having access to the Patreon-only digital feed, I'll send you a personalized, handwritten postcard each month. Or it might be a card or a letter or a Cathy cartoon I clipped out of the newspaper--it'll be a surprise!

You can also write me back (digitally or by snail mail!) to tell me what topics I should cover as part of the digital feed.

You'll ALSO get a freebie of any and all Taking Up Space merch items when they are released! (Hint: stickers are coming!)

About Kate Browne

I'm Kate Browne and I believe that:
  • self care is community care
  • body positivity is a right and a responsibility
  • taking up space is about shining your bright light to make it possible for others to do the same
In 2015, I founded the Ramp and Stair Exercise Club, a virtual meet up group for people who wanted to connect with others to create their own fitness communities. That Facebook group became the Taking Up Space blog to reach more people and celebrate the myriad ways we can practice using self love to heal from body shame.

For the past two years, I have grown this community without sharing much about what goes in to making it work. In short, it's a lot more futzing with pixels and code than the important, creative work that I know and love. I realized that in order to bring my full self to this work, I need more financial support.

I rely on my Patreon supporters (aka Taking Up Space Cadets!) to hold space for me so that I can do what I do best--write, speak, and teach. I want to increase the impact of my work to include a regular video series, retreats & meet ups, and enroll 10,000 people in my annual Show Up for Summer body confidence program. Having a community of support behind me in this work means that I have the time, energy, and influence to bring this message to more brands, venues, and people. Oprah's Super Soul Sunday or bust, y'all.

Thank you for making it possible to do this work!

Always proud to take up space with you,

When our group reaches 100 people, I'll hire an artist to create our logo and print our first stickers!
