About

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Patreon page for Thalamus Digital Publishing. I'm Andy Roberts, and you might remember me from magazines such as Zzap!64, Commodore Format, New Computer Express, Total!, and Planet Game Boy. I've also spent a considerable chunk of the last 30 years working in game development, and I've had the privilege of working on some incredible games, from 8-bit titles such as Creatures, Creatures 2, and Mayhem in Monsterland, to blockbusting Triple-A games and franchises such as Crash BandicootShadowMan, and South Park.

In 2017 I launched Thalamus Digital Publishing with the aim of remastering existing Commodore 64 titles from the Thalamus back catalogue, and later that same year I ran a successful Kickstarter campaign for Hunter's Moon Remastered. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, and we're now expanding to develop titles for other retro systems such as the ZX Spectrum Next, as well as next-gen platforms such as PC, PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Why Patreon?
Simply put, we're a small company with big ideas and we want to share with you all the cool stuff that goes on behind closed doors. During the development of Hunter's Moon Remastered, our development diary proved extremely popular, and with a history of producing behind-the-scenes development diaries, blogs, and magazine features, chronicling the development process is something we really enjoy and hope that the fans will appreciate.

In return, your contribution will allow us to channel more time and resources into game development, allowing us to - among other things - bring more of our games to other formats, remaster more games from our back catalogue, and develop new games and sequels.

Why Me?
If you're a fan of the old developer diaries from Zzap!64 and Commodore Format, we've got your back. Every month you'll receive an update charting all the latest happenings from Thalamus HQ, as well as numerous bonuses exclusively for Patreon backers:

  • Exclusive access to our behind-the-scenes blog.
  • Occasional guest features from artists and programmers.
  • Sneak peeks of upcoming games (video, audio, and screenshots).
  • Access to hidden treasures from the Thalamus archives.
  • Discounts on Thalamus games and merchandise.

About Us
Thalamus Digital Publishing is an independent game developer and publisher with offices in the UK and Canada. Rising from the ashes of Thalamus, the world-renowned 8-bit and 16-bit software publisher from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, the new company was launched in 2017 by industry veteran Andy Roberts. The name Thalamus is synonymous with quality games, graphical polish, and technical excellence, and Thalamus Digital Publishing aims to continue the outstanding legacy of its forebears.
