Description: The Divine Sanctuary (Tortosa Organic Farm) was founded in August 2014, started in May 2016 and became an organic farm in June 2018. It is a family project of the Tortosa family to help the local community and to promote organic as well as sustainable farming. We hope to one day open as an Eco-Tourism mountain resort for people to visit, work, volunteer and be part of in the future. We aim to educate on farming, connect and help the community, share the local culture, promote sustainable techniques and technology, to encourage outdoor activities and interaction with nature, aid with employment and livelihood, as well as help to grow the local people and visitors with their spiritual well-being.

The sanctuary’s aim is to create a clean energy, sustainable organic farm system, which will also act as an area for Eco-Tourism (Agri-Tourism) as a mountain destination. The focus will be on working with: clean energy, renewable power, local produce, local materials and resources. The farm will become a focus area for growth, educating and interacting with nature in many ways. This will help locals and internationals to connect to the natural systems within the Philippines, and the culture itself: creating a large community.

As a flower, The Divine Sanctuary will help the person grow, roots and bloom. Becoming much more than when they had first arrived and leaving as something so much more. Our main aim is to create an integrated organic system and Eco-Tourism and mountain destination. An area that can help people learn and connect with nature, in a world that is full of distractions and technology. It will act as a main hub for new facilities and services for the community, as well as helping the personal growth in a team, and of the individual.

The area will provide events for all ages, and activities both for indoors and outdoors. The area is about 48 Hectares (118 Acres) and will one day have 5 main areas: the ‘Main Farmland’, a ‘Spiritual Area’, a ‘Space For Tourists’, a lower area for ‘Activities’, and a place for ‘Rest & Relaxation’. The Divine Sanctuary will one day have mixed spaces: private areas for tourists and areas that are open to public day visitation only. Public spaces will have buildings and activities for: themed events, education centers, areas for family gatherings and outings (this is to be planned out in the future).

The basis of the project is to help people get ‘connected’ with nature and themselves: the human senses, to be grounded, happy in the moment and to be connected to their pure self again. With upcoming proposed areas which will help people with the development of: awareness, empathy, mindfulness and self expression. Future facilities within the area will help to provide for these sections for when people come to visit the project.

Eco-Tourism: It is a form of tourism involving the visitation of fragile, pristine and undisturbed natural areas. The focus is to ‘observe’ and to ‘preserve’. It is a ‘low impact tourism’, comparing to ‘mass tourism’. It will help educate the visitor and the funds made will help preserve the area for future visitation. Eco-Tourism can really help to empower the systems of: community spirit, culture as well as the economy and country as it gives locals appreciation for their land.

The Divine Sanctuary (Tortosa Organic Farm) currently sells culinary herbs and lettuce to the cities of Kabankalan and Bacolod. Acting as a direct supplier for fresh and organic produce to many hotels, restaurants and supermarkets, as well as a stall at Ayala Central Mall in Bacolod City. We really focus more towards having a ‘balanced diet’ and healthy eating (able to accommodate Vegan and Vegetarian visitors). It will help internationals and locals to focus on a healthy lifestyle, as well as the many benefits of doing this.

The Divine Sanctuary will educate people with ‘green solutions’ and focus on getting people connected back with nature. This is done by understanding and working together with it as a cycle. The area itself will be a multi-functional ‘hub’ for local and international inputs. With the aims of ‘growing’, ‘creating’ and ‘healing’. Helping people to develop: mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Helping the individual to grow, to be whole and be more of themselves (the pure and authentic self). People will be able to enjoy exploring the area, their passions and who they are. This is to give people direction and suggested guidance to help enrich their lives. Helping people to grow, to be rooted and to eventually bloom. Just like a flower growing upwards towards the heavens.

Goals
$29 of $100 per month
Basic: $100.00(USD) a month would raise enough funding for basic support, maintenance and development. This is the equivalent of P5,000.00(PHP), and would be a great aid to the team and to the project if we can achieve this goal. When we complete this goal, we will give a surprise gift to our team (and photograph it).
