The Learned Fangirl (TLF) is at the intersection of pop culture, technology, and cultural analysis. We post new content weekly with critiques of pop culture, which includes movies, music, television, video games, social media, and fandom.

TLF was started in 2007 by  Keidra Chaney and Raizel Liebler. In the past few years we've expanded to a group of five regular writers (and even more guest writers); diverse in age, race, and fandom interests. We interview fan filmmakersreport from pop culture consanalyze niche trends like K-Pop, and review books, video games and "buzz" TV shows like Game of Thrones  from a woman's perspective.

We don’t shy away from taking on heavy issues like race, gender, and sexuality, but we abhor click-bait. We're also 100% independent and committed to creating thoughtful pop culture criticism for diverse audiences underserved by mainstream pop culture websites.

With your support, we'll be able to:

  • Provide more long-form writing  and pay our writers
  • Expand our content to include audio and video
  • Pay for yearly web hosting and domain name

Thanks for your support!
