TOWANDA is creating a badass community!

In 2015 I gathered an intimate group of women on Facebook with the intention of creating a space for support without judgment, a place to show up vulnerable and authentic and the opportunity to escape from the heaviness of the Real World. The reason for creating the group was purely selfish at the time. I needed this community to help save me from the chaos and destruction that was tearing apart my family.
I guess I wasn't the only one craving this space.
Thousands of members later and the foundation of TOWANDA remains the same, come as you are, keep judgmental opinions to yourself and ask the Tribe to carry you when you are too tired to walk alone.

Now that there is a consistent flow of badass energy surrounding the group it's time to be open to new opportunities and possibilities and that usually means stepping outside the comfort zone and thinking outside the box!
Which is how the Tip Jar idea manifested!
It has always been my intention to provide a space for women to feel empowered, confident and supported and Facebook has allowed me to accomplish this goal without having to charge for the platform. #grateful
There are so many out there that absolutely need the support, encouragement, and friendship that comes from being a part of a like-minded community and I will make sure that that is always available.

But running a community of nearly 10,000 members do not come without 'costs'!

  • On average I spend anywhere from 2-3 hours a day in TOWANDA. Some of those hours are spent dealing with 'issues' but most of them are spent in PM's talking with Birds about life, love, loss, and growth. I am also happy to post *ANON* for anyone who needs support from the Tribe and do so several times a week.
  • In addition to the 'admin duties', I try to provide value to the group with inspiring emails, swag, and resources and tools that facilitate personal growth. I am literally ALWAYS thinking of ways that I can give more to the group! (I so want to create retreats and host meetups!!)
  • Hosting my emails, creating graphics, and offering swag are obviously not free and it's a cost I don't mind incurring because I get my own creative needs taken care of, but I am starting to take a look at the 'bigger picture' and re-evaluating where my time is being spent.
TOWANDA will never cost a penny to belong to. And nothing is changing with the Tribe. If anything having some of the financial burdens lifted from my shoulder will allow me to be more creative, more present, and give me the resources to start bringing this online community together out in the Real World!

I'm super excited about this sister page to TOWANDA! I plan on using Patreon to post all of my writings, musings, rambling thoughts and maybe try a couple of new things along the way! (HELLO! Podcasts, Lives, Interviews...)

I am forever grateful that I am taking this journey with you and I thank you for supporting myself and TOWANDA in whatever way you are capable of.

xx,
Stacey

Goals
$133 of $4,000 per month
My ultimate goal is to create a podcast where I interview inspiring women who have crushed goals, survived the wild and braved uncharted territory.
In order for me to make this goal a reality I need to be able to purchase the necessary equipment so my shit sounds professional (I'll actually be faking the 'professional podcaster' part) and to cover my overhead so that I can focus on content and consistency.

Can you even imagine a TOWANDA podcast?! I can.
