I never assumed I’d end up singing songs in front of people when I was younger, but here I am. Music, back then, was something personal. When I plugged headphones into a little CD Walkman, listening to an album I drove 40 miles to the nearest Circuit City to get, the meditative power of listening got etched into my brain. It was the comfort of great rock and roll, loud drums with good feel, but mostly hearing yourself in the lyrics in a way that you hadn’t thought to express it. There is still magic floating around out there, and I’m tracking it down.
Fifteen years later, I’m writing and recording songs so someone else can find him or herself in there, or maybe even someone they know.
The genre I seem to work in has been called “Americana” or “folk” or “alt-country,” but it is what it is. I just sing the way I’ve learned how and play what I like to hear. I’m not peddling in belt buckles and porkpie hats to give anybody nostalgic vibes for the ‘good old days.’ I like to read, and I like getting inside a character’s head, and I love language most of all.
Thanks for bearing with me. Heed the call if you’re called, and take care!

Goals
31% complete
Upon reaching this goal, I'll be able to spend more time on a few side projects, such as the belabored Roller Boys podcast (wherein the subject and I discuss road food and other shenanigans). Let's enrich the world with roller food.
Also, this money will all go to funding the next album, which is completely written as of now.
