Upside Down Podcast is an ecumenical podcast at the intersection of justice, spirituality, and culture. Join us for conversations about God's Upside Down Kingdom. No topic is off-limits.

Upside Down Podcast is a collaborative Christian podcast co-founded by Kayla Craig and Lindsy Wallace. Some of our most thought-provoking guests have included Shane Claiborne, Jo Saxton, Father Greg Boyle, Christena Cleveland, Dr. John Perkins, Shannan Martin, and Dominique Gilliard. Popular episodes have featured round-table discussions on the enneagram, gentrification, nonviolence, vocations and callings, immigration, and more.

We created Upside Down Podcast in 2016, responding to the void we felt online and IRL among Christians. We quickly learned we weren’t the only ones desiring genuine, ecumenical dialogue and thoughtful engagement about the world we live in. We come to the virtual table twice-a-month to unpack how being citizens of Jesus’ upside down kingdom can and should drive our conversations and our lives.

We’re blown away by the quantity and quality of people who have joined us along the way. Our episodes have been downloaded more than 300,000 times (!!!) and more than 800 folks engage in thoughtful, culturally-urgent conversations in our private Facebook group.

For the past two years, we’ve funded Upside Down Podcast completely out-of-pocket. As the ministry has grown, so have expenses associated with operation and expansion. Each month, we pay fees for hosting the podcast, website, and domain, and we invest money into producing the podcast, developing our online platforms, and planning potential future listener gatherings. None of us have ever been paid for the work we do for the podcast, and paying for everything necessary to keep it going is beginning to take its toll on our families. #keepingitreal

We could choose to run ads on the podcast to pay the bills but have decided against it. Frankly, it’s not easy to find like-minded business we can fully get behind and we never want our listeners to feel like we’re promoting something just because we were paid to do it. Our hope is to receive enough Patreon gifts to continue and grow the podcast without compromising our decision not to run ads.

Will you join our community?

Through your patronage, we'll be able to:
  • Continue producing high-quality content for each podcast.
  • Increase production quality through better recording equipment and editing software.
  • Consistently share encouraging and thoughtful content on social media.
  • Compensate our team for the hard work they put into getting the podcast out into the world.
  • Dream big – we have many things we'd love to do, but without additional funding, these ideas won't be able to come to fruition.

Please prayerfully consider joining our community of patrons to become a vital part of the ecumenical dialogue and thoughtful engagement Upside Down Podcast cultivates each month.

If you prefer to make a single donation (which may work better for our overseas listeners considering conversion rates) you can do so here.

*Please note: We are not a non-profit, and your support is not tax-deductible.

If every person who listens to the podcast supported at even the lowest level, we could meet all of the podcast needs, have the financial freedom to dream big for the future, AND compensate our team. We currently have a team of SEVEN people making the podcast a reality but no one is getting a paycheck - and let's be real - bills are also a reality. If we hit this goal, we'll throw a virtual dance party and you'll all be invited.
