My name is Noura Khouri- I am Palestinian, from the Bay Area and have worked for the past two decades as a human rights activist, campaign strategist and community organizer.

During this time, I have lived and worked locally on issues of social and economic justice, and abroad in Palestine and Egypt to witness and document human rights abuses. I've managed all aspects of strategic planning and implementation for network and coalition building for the purpose of creating justice based campaigns, such as the Stop Urban Shield campaign which led to it getting it kicked out of Oakland and Alameda County!

Additionally I am working as a Field Organizer with the Green Party of Alameda County, on local issues such as Oakland public education and getting progressive candidates on the 2018 ballot. I am also on the National Committee of the War Resister's League in NYC and a member of the Arab Resource and Organizing Center in SF who I'm working with to stop police militarization and end all war. I am also on the national board of Al-Awda, Palestine Right to Return Coalition and we have been working for the past year + to launch national chapters across the country, and plan two major return conferences marking 70 years since the Nakba, or Palestinian catastrophe this May 2018. We are also sponsoring a diaspora-trip this summer and in the fall, to document an intergenerational journey of Palestinian youth and elders returning to their homes and villages of origins.
Prior to my time in Egypt, I co-led the Middle East Peace Program, for the American Friends Service Committee for four years and have led field campaigns including in Las Vegas for Peace Action West during the run up to the 2008 Presidential elections - to call for an end to the war in Iraq and an end to nuclear weapons. Prior to that I worked for refugee and human rights organizations Badil and Al Haq in occupied Palestine from 2005-2007 and did nonviolent direct action against the occupation, with the International Solidarity Movement.

Anything you can give, will help sustain me to continue to do this important work. Thank you for your support!
