I graduated in BA Hons Illustration at Lancaster University and recently finished my Masters in the same subject. This body of work shows my journey as a practitioner that has changed my perspective on image making. Exploring new ideas and going out of my comfort zone, there is no definitive answer or final direction that I am heading to. It is constantly changing, just as people who are adapting and altering who they are as individuals. This also has enhanced by curiosity of the portrait and how it is viewed, how different people read it. I also came to the realization that there is no right or wrong answer on how we see images and if we chose to as a spectator to materialize the image in to a 3 directional objects is up to us. Moving away from the traditional use of the portrait gave me a wider platform to explore and see the person as an abstract being in instead of a two-dimensional product of society. Also questioning my self and my role as an image maker and how could I contribute and challenge the audience while staying true to my practice.
