Dear you,

I've always had difficulties describing myself and yet here I am trying to tell you what I do and who I am, which actually is the first thing I struggle with as I do not know how to separate who I am from what I do :)

What I can say about me:
Ever since I was a child I loved writing and the mere process of inventing new characters, worlds and scenarios. When I was five years old I started playing the piano and fell in love with music and its evanescent and yet everlasting character. I've loved drawing as much I I enjoyed looking at other people's art wondering what they might have thought and felt in their moments of creation. When I was 18 I decided to become a physicist, which I still am. However, I never stopped playing the piano, I never stopped loving art and above all I never stopped creating stories. They come to me as I walk near a river, as I look into the sky, as I listen to a song I used to love, as I smell the perfume of somebody I used to be acquainted with. The more I try to grow up and leave behind the fantasies of my past, the more they com back to me in a hauntingly beautiful way: Two star-crossed lovers whose story needs to be told, legends about friendship and bravery, and tales about strange beings from worlds older than our time.

The truth is, there is not one single description of me. Because we are all multifarious. We are in love with many different things, get excited about people of all sorts, strange places and new experiences. The art critic and artist Lajos Hevesi once said "To every age its art, to art its freedom", which is written on the Secession in Vienna and holds more truth today then ever before. We live in a time where our greatest strength is to be exactly who we are and to be able to express what we think and what we feel - in written words, in the stroke of a brush or the melodious concatenation of tones. I want to make use of this strength and share my stories with other people - from all the mysterious places they come from out to the world and to anybody who wants to join me on my artistic journey.

The first novel I will share in English is "When We Were Younger" - you can read the short description below. At this point I do not want to give away too much about the story line because I like the unknown and I think you will too. My native language is German, as I grew up in Austria, so if you want to read my German stories too, I can try to translate them later on. For now, the only thing left to say is that I hope you enjoy reading my novels and that you will share your thoughts and constructive criticism with me :) Always feel free to leave me a comment or message.

Best, Claire M. B.

"When we were Younger"
A boy with red hair, a cheeky smile and a twinkle in his eyes. Nobody knew who he was or where he came from and, to be frank, nobody ever dared to ask. All I knew about him was that his name was Leon and that for some reason he had decided to enter my life.
