Today's Photo of Kremenchuk, a town in Ukraine - Every day since 1999. Kremenchuk was supposedly founded in 1571. The town has big perspectives of social- economical and cultural development. Kremenchuk is the administrative center of the Kremenchuk Raion (district) in Poltava Oblast (province). Population: 223,805 (2015 est.) Originally established on the left river bank Dnipro, Kremenchuk eventually included the city of Kryukiv on the right coast. In 2014 during the mass demolition of monuments to Vladimir Lenin in Ukraine, in the city were removed two monuments of the Russian Communist leader in the city center and near the Kryukiv Railcar Factory. Kremenchuk's Ukrtatnafta oil refinery is the largest in Ukraine and the only one operating since the beginning of the conflict with Russia that left refineries in the Donbass inactive.
