About

The 78rpm Collectors' Community is a research hub and social network for collectors of 78rpms recordings, phonographs, memorabilia, recording machines and the history of the 78 rpm era.

We release (for free) an on-line magazine called the Discographer Magazine which features articles, discographies, photos and content related to the old format of records pre-LP.

We've issued 15 issue so far, and most issues are about 100 pages in length and are available online as print-on-demand - but we need financial help to ensure our researching efforts continue...

We've recently created articles (including a multi-issue survey of Parlophone’s ‘Race Series’ of the 1930's and 40's as well as biographies on some of the following music artists of the 78rpm era:

  • Elsie Carlisle
  • Coolidge Quartet
  • Girvan Dundas
  • Reginald Foresythe
  • Carroll Gibbons & his Boyfriends
  • Frank Teschemacher
  • Louis Levy
  • St. Louis Symphony Orchestra
  • Webster Booth and Anne Ziegler
  • Dinah Miller
  • Phyllis Robins (and)
  • Felix Mendelssohn.., to name a few...

We are also developing a 78rpm record cataloging software (Windows is now available), an online database that features every HMV, DB series recording and much more...
