About Annabashedly

I spent my early twenties feeling messed up, lost, confused, struggling with concealed anxiety and not ever having a plan B. I’ve dedicated this site to spread the message that you’re allowed to sidetrack. You’re allowed to feel lost. You’re allowed to have moments where you don't love yourself. But you can never, ever let anyone fool you that you can’t do something. Including yourself.

Trust me when I say that when your heart is broken, that’s when new light gets in. All your pain and struggles will produce understandings that create a new level of living. Keep pushing for your dreams. Never stop. You came to slay.

1) I want to continue to try to bring hope to people as they deal with the many struggles life can bring.  Through my blog articles I try to spread the message that no matter what situation people find themselves in life, there is always a reason to have hope. I try to help people understand that they are not alone in their struggles and provide them with insights that they may not have thought about. I want to continue to provide hope and comfort to people for a long time.

2) I need to make self-sustaining for this to work.  In order to dedicate sufficient time and resources to writing meaningful and helpful articles, I need to be able to support myself and the blog site. People write me all the time telling me how much my articles have helped them and this brings me great satisfaction and drives me to write more. But I cannot do this without monetary help.

In the short term I am using advertising to be able to get some money to sustain my blog. But ads are distracting and not comfortable for the reader and in the long term I would like to remove them by finding another source of funding. Donations from readers who believe my blog articles are helpful and insightful is a means to continue my blog.

The way Patreon works is a reader can become a patron and support with a monthly donation. The donation continues each month after that. So anything, from $1/month and up per month is very helpful to our cause.

What I'll Use the Money For
My initial goal is $5,000/month. That money will be enough to keep going, indefinitely. Here are annabash's costs:

  • Hosting. I need a robust enough hosting plan to enable the blog site to be reliable and handle the load of the millions of visitors.
  • MailChimp. The service I use to email posts out to the subscription list. This fee grows as the email list grows.
  • Ongoing web development. It's a website, so there are always upsetting glitches coming out of nowhere and occasionally, I add a new site features. I don't have any programming skills, so I need to pay someone for this.
  • Facebook post "boosts".  If I don't spend money on boosting/advertising my posts, Facebook hides it from  most of my followers, and only about 10% get an update. (!) Can you believe it?! So,  I need to spend my own money to boost posts to make sure all my followers can read them. It costs 10-25 dollars per post. I post at least 5 times a week. So, you do the math...
  • Me. I need to continue to eat things and wear things and turn lights on as I write posts. I'm a girl who lives in a tiny NY  apartment with roommates, so my needs are minimal. But I still have them. :)
  • That's the basics. With those pieces covered, my blog can support itself.

$0 of $5,000 per month
I would like to find a way to get sufficient resources to be able to continue writing articles that help to spread the message that no matter what situation people find themselves in and no matter what life struggle people are facing, there is always a reason to have hope.
