About Coventry & Kaluza

Hi, we are Coventry & Kaluza, physical comedians, circus performers, music makers, video generators, and creators and producers of heart touching performances.

Infinite gratitude is coming your way for taking the time to get to know us - your generous gifts will enable us to create new work, to finally make real many ideas that have been waiting in our idea file, and to bring our art to communities that are in need.

Coventry & Kaluza are passionate about uplifting humanity through the sacred form of clowning, and using all theatrical means to shed light on the poetry of life. We aim to connect deeply with our audiences, to have a shared experience that touches on fundamental truths of being, and to have a funky good time!

Laughter is healing - this has been scientifically proven.

Some of our favorite acts and performances have been:
Mr. & Mrs. Legume in "Spit for Spat" (Winner Best Comedy/ Clown Act in the American Circus Festival 2005): Don’t judge a book by its cover. Mr. and Mrs. Legume (everyone's grandparents) are a seemingly outdated couple, but in this musical number, they manage to break all preconceived notions and deliver a toe-tapping, funky rendition of a folk classic.

The Coat: Two Clowns and only one coat - this poetic act takes a surreal turn when they find that the coat has room for them both. We have performed this with Sweet Can Productions - in their annual show Mittens & Mistletoe: A Winter Circus Cabaret, at the Moisture Festival in Seattle, in an elder care facility in SF, and a playhouse in Arcata. We love creating material that reaches people in all stages of life!

Wacrobatics: An acrobatic act that displays strength, agility, and extreme... stupidity. We performed this act for an entire  summer before realizing that Kaluza's dress had to fall onto Coventry at the end of the act!

Aurillac Festival in France/ contract in Japan: we enjoyed the challenge of overcoming language with physical comedy and making new cultural connections.

Whenever we perform, we bring our open energy of play, our love of life and our sincere belief that all deserve joy an kindness. Please join us on this journey, we look forward to sharing the ring with you!
