Raising awareness is important, but unfortunately mere awareness, knowledge and sheer determination itself is not enough to make things work in the legal process against the Government, it's authorities, in the Courts.
If you have ever had an argument around the law with a member of the "alleged" Police, you will find that they simply respond with "I don't know anything about that, but I do know about the [insert some offence allegedly committed]. You can argue the rest in Court."
This is wrong on many levels.
The havoc and destruction that a "criminal prosecution" can play on a person's life and the way the entire system is tilted against anybody who is defending such a proceeding means that charging where there is uncertainty around the law... it is just is not acceptable.
We were all victims to the criminal injustice system after having Police target us at various stages (your average person, absolute nobodies) for various things because they just wanted a bit of sport, thought they had easy targets and broke numerous laws against us. When they realised we wouldn't be bullied, they tried every avenue to have us stopped.
So now we have joined together to fight back, and you can join us too by becoming a patron.
After suffering so much, we began to wonder how many other people have been victim to this same sort of thing and have gone unheard and without a fight?
You may think, "this will never happen to me" and that's what we all used to think too.
We were average people who, like practically everyone else, had blind faith in our Police and the lower Courts. Not only were we mistaken but such trust and faith was badly misplaced.
It may not be you but it may be your son, your daughter, niece, nephew, brother, sister, etc. Think about that for a moment, any one you love or care for could have their entire life turned upside down and destroyed for something they were innocent of.
It is more common than you may believe and an example of what pressure of the public does to police investigations is evident everywhere:
- The first 48 makes millions off imprisoning innocents. (Even though this link references Police in the United States they all share the same tactics, pressures and similar difficulties to what our Police here do to get a case wrapped up),
- Roseanne Beckett: Woman who wrongfully served 10 years in jail in NSW,
- Outrageous imprisonment must be investigated, but likely never was.
- Ironic that a cop gets a massive payout for a "wrongful arrest" in Victoria
- Even DNA evidence is unreliable at best, and this one shows how even impossible circumstances will be overlooked for a conviction.
Is what we have now really the best thing?
We don't need civil war, a revolt, call to arms or any action of that sort.
The costs would be far too great and shatter even more lives than society currently destroys.
What we need to do is use the system against those who have manipulated and turned it against us.
The law is meant to protect everyone, not only from criminals but from an overzealous government with it's lacklustre and uncaring authorities, who only care about wrapping a case up and will pin it on anybody they can get.
These authorities rely on the ignorance of the defendant, the incompetence of the Magistrates and Judges and the ignorance of the lay person called to be a member of the jury.
Why do you think the authorities have so many powers and the system insists on pleas of guilt? Why does the system treat so much more harshly those who protest their innocence and exercise their right to put the prosecution to the test?
It isn't just the wrongfully prosecuted that are the victims of the criminal injustice system. Everybody around that person suffers too: partners, parents, brothers, sisters, etc. It destroys entire families, tears relationships apart, creates bitterness and resentment.
You should consider supporting this quest to right the wrongs, especially for those who worry about:
* the constant erosion of their civil rights,
* that the authorities believe they're above the law
* the hypocrisy by the authorities and the government
* the vast powers of the authorities with no real avenue of complaint
* rampant discrimination and victimisation by the authorities
The groundwork has been laid, the foundations are set, everything has been brought together and is almost set to go.
The information we use will be made available on the public domain as we go, giving you the tools and knowledge to defend yourself.
Don't think a lawyer will help you out, you only need to look to the solicitor/barrister rules and immediately you will see their paramount duty is to the Court and the administration of justice.
The Court first, administration of justice second and you, their client, last.
Don't be fooled by the words "administration of justice", it doesn't mean you get justice. The definition they are referring to is the same as "daily administration tasks", get cases in and out fast and in favour of the government.
To complete this work, your support is needed and appreciated.
Currently we are very limited in the amount of information and research we can conduct into keeping your rights safe.
We want to introduce actual changes to protect your rights and eventually by earning more, we will be able to have full time advocates trying to claw your rights back from the government.
Once rights are lost to government and authority, you will never get those rights back!
