Wayward Sound Studio is not just a professional recording studio, but started as an idea to advance the Plattsburgh musical community, holistically.  The goal was to allow for a place for musicians to learn, hone, perfect, and record their craft in a professional setting.  The idea is to work with local artists, local educational institutions, businesses, and venues to bring live, local music back into the forefront of peoples minds, hearts and souls.

To accomplish this, the founder, owner, and operator Jamse Ward acquired a space which he has invested into and transformed from an abandoned warehouse into a music studio and space with some of the latest and greatest materials, music instruments and professional recording equipment.  Additionally, Jamse has been partnering with local musicians to provide low to no cost recordings that allow for the proof of concept behind his dream.

The goal of our Patreon is simple - we would like to make sustainable music a reality within our Plattsburgh community.  By crowd-sourcing the funds necessary to record and produce the many performers and artists that find the costs insurmountable, the financial burden is lessened exponentially on the artist, and the benefit to the community as a whole is shared more frequently and efficiently than a typical system of recording when the process is paid for by the artists directly.

Our mission is quite simple - to make music production within our area sustainable and consistent. Our Patreon reward structure is similar to a music-making “scholarship” and will grant a monthly “artist in residence” a grant to get their music out to Patrons, and then the world. Our Patreon reward structure is therefore threefold:
Patron's contributions will go to a locally owned and operated professional recording studio ;
Our local artists will have a recording opportunity that is typically cost-prohibitive,
And most importantly, our Patrons and fellow music-lovers within the community are rewarded with fresh, local and professionally recorded music.

We will be selecting local artists monthly from the area to receive the "artist-in-residence" opportunity as we reach our Patreon goals.

All Patrons will receive priority access to fresh, local, professionally recorded music not only first, but with exclusive access to Patreon - designated recordings!  We will offer 5 tiers of individual contribution levels, to ensure good affordability, better value and best reward to all of our Patrons.
$18 of $100 per month
Upon reaching $100 per month, we will be creating video updates addressed to Patrons on such topics as…

  • what the studio is up to
  • prospective musicians we are scouting for future projects
  • tips and tricks in the studio
  • interviews with local artists and more!
