Will Smallis creating Poetic Beings Podcast
I'll send you an unpublished poem straight to your inbox, at least monthly.
If I was busking in the street, you'd throw some spare change in the hat. I'd give you a warm smile.
I'll directly ask you for interview questions, guest recommendations and feedback on episode structure. I'll also credit your name at the end of an episode. At this tier, you're a true co-creator.
Metaphors wet your whistle. Alliteration gets you going. You listen to the poems at the end of the episodes and find yourself clicking along.
You want to help put bread on this poet's table. For that, you'll get all the privileges of previous tiers PLUS I'll send you a copy of the 'Poetic Beings' coffee-table book (due early 2020), with a handwritten thank you note.
It's likely that you actually own and have even read a book of poetry. You might have been to a poetry slam and clicked your fingers or even jumped up to perform your own work!
About Will Small
For ten years I’ve been performing spoken word poetry. In the last couple I’ve become deeply fascinated with the art of the interview and the medium of podcasting.
So I’ve decided to mash them all together.
Poetic Beings is a project where I interview incredible people with a story worth telling, and then try to capture each person in an original piece of spoken word poetry. Every episode of the podcast features the interview + the poem. In early 2020, I'll also be releasing a beautiful, coffee table book with pictures of the people I've interviewed, quotes from our conversations, and the poems I've written.
If you've tasted what I'm making and you dig it, I'm asking you to help me to continue this innovative storytelling project by becoming a patron. Podcasts are free to listen to, but they aren't free to make. Your support helps me invest time into all the aspects necessary to create work like this: organising interviews, interviewing guests, writing the poetry, editing the episodes etc.
What's in it for you? I absolutely love the idea of this project involving a growing community helping bring it to life. As a patron, for as little as $1 a month I'll give you access to exclusive, unpublished poetry sent straight to your inbox. At $5 a month you'll be a co-creator able to contribute interview questions, recommend guests and provide valuable feedback to help shape this show as it evolves over time. If you give over $10 a month, I'll post you a free copy of the book with a handwritten note from me when it's released in early 2020. If you're unbelievably generous and choose to give over $20 a month, I'll write you your very own poem.
Thanks for joining me, as I unearth the stories of interesting humans and capture them in original pieces of spoken word poetry.
